P. 20    Alaska’s warmest location in July is North Pole with 74.9° avg. temperature for the period of 1971-2000

P. 25    126° recorded at Mitribah, Kuwait on 7/25/2008 for a new national record

P. 26    Bulgaria’s record high temperature is 115° set at Petrich

P. 28    The THI temperature at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia on July 8, 2003 was 176° not “155-160°”

P. 28    A world record low humidity reading of 0% was recorded at Giles, W. Australia on 10/22/2008 when an air temp. of 83° was registered while the dew point temp. stood at -43°

P. 46    Grand Canyon NP recorded a same day record high and low temperature on 7/31/2008 with a range of 39° to 95°. Alamosa, CO recorded a same day record high and low on 8/24/2002: 33° to 85° and also on 2/21/1958 with a range of -18° to 58°.

P. 51    Other locations in Alaska to record -70° or lower include -72° at O’Brien Creek,       -72° at Clearwater, and -70° at Dietrich Camp. The -77° noted for Manley Hot Springs is incorrect. The reading should be -73°. Northway has recorded -72° in the past.

P. 54    Site of Indiana’s record low temp. of -36° should read Whiteland not Whitehead

P. 56    Wind chill reading at Queen Maud Land should have read -174° not -150°. Also,  a wind chill of at least -192°F possibly occurred at Vostok, Antarctica on 8/24/2005 when the day’s maximum temp. of -99°  occurred along with a daily maximum wind gust of  113mph (this info courtesy of Trent McCotter)

P. 57    A temperature of -73° was recorded at Ust Sgughor, Russia on 12/31/1978 establishing the coldest temperature ever measured anywhere in Europe or the European section of Russia.

P. 80    Dates of 22-hour and 24-hour snowfall records at Frye’s Ranch and Silver Lake, CO should read 1921 not 1927

P. 117    Unofficial record 24-hour rainfall for the state of Indian occurred at Edinburgh in June 2008 with a report of 10.71”. Also, official record 24-hour rainfalls were recorded in Minnesota with 15.10” and Wisconsin with 11.75” during August of 2007

P. 119    46.02” of rain fell in 24 hours at Amni Devi, India on May 5-6, 2004. 55.20” of rain fell in 24 hours at Weiliaoshan, Taiwan on Aug. 8, 2009. Rainfall total for Isla Mujeres, Yucatan should read 64.33” not 62.05”.

For USA greatest 24-hour rainfalls add 23.11” at Taylor, TX on Sept. 9-10, 1921. Also, there have been 8 rainfalls of 20”+ in Hawaii during a single 24-hour period and two of 30”+ in addition to the ones listed in the table. These two were 31.95” at Honomu on 2/20/1918 and 30.50” at Laupahoehoe on 12/24/1901 (these are both on the Big Island).
